Alaskan Glacier

It has been a hectic week moving the contents of our home in Keystone Heights (officially closed on as of just moments ago) to the house we will be renting in St. Augustine but we are finally done! Now, onto moving out of the house we have been renting in Sebring. Tasha did a great job releasing things we no longer needed and getting everything packed and Diana was incredibly helpful as well, particularly with keeping Edmund occupied. I'm back in the office and using a little lunch time to get this out.

Today's photo is of an Alaskan Glacier taken during a cruise along the Inside Passage last summer (thanks P&Z). At the moment, I can't recall which glacier this is but believe it was in College Fjord.

It is hard to capture the immensity of a glacier in a photo, but to give it some perspective, the wall of ice you see is 200 to 300 feet high and is the face of the same glacier that is in the background flowing between the mountainsides. We are so grateful to have been able to go on this trip...the opportunities to take photos were limitless. Expect more "Inside Passage" photos in the future.

Alaskan Brown Bear

I wish I could say I captured this image out in the wild, but that's not the case. However, the bear is NOT of the circus variety either. He/she is a wild bear but was in "rehab" at a wildlife center in Whittier Alaska. I don't think he had any substance abuse issues...most likely he was injured in some way. Maybe by a hunter with a substance abuse issue
Anyway, he seemed to be happy in his surroundings.

Have a great Monday.

Torre State Park Beach

Trying to live up to my promise of sending a photo-a-day.

We're all at the house in Keystone today which has no TV, internet or phone since we haven't lived her for over a year. We do, however, have some luxuries such as electricity and running water! And since I have a handy-dandy gizmo that plugs into my laptop to access the internet through my cell phone provider, I am able to send this email!

Today's photo was taken earlier this year from a bluff overlooking the beach at Torre State Park near San Diego in California. I've been out to San Diego three times this year on business. Each trip, I tried to find some time to explore the area.

Have a great day!

Welcome to Ed's Photo-A-Day Blog!

I love taking photographs. So, I thought I would begin sharing some of my photos by email in a "one-a-day" type manner.
After about a week of doing this, Tasha (my wife) created this blog and has encouraged me to use it as it will allow people to post their comments on the photos. Additionally, it will keep my photo postings in a chronological order. Thanks Tasha.
Hope you enjoy the photos. If you'd like to see more of my work, visit my web site at www.EdmundStanton.com.

Jupiter Island Sunrise

This photo of a sunrise was taken last spring on Jupiter Island. It was a long exposure that resulted in the "soft" appearance of the waves and sky.

Hope everyone is doing well. We finally sold our home in Keystone Heights (close on it this Thursday) and we are all very busy preparing to move from our rental in Sebring to St. Augustine!
